"IN AN EFFORT TO BETTER MYSELF AS A PARENT/PERSON, I STARTED TAKING CODING CLASSES ONLINE. I SPENT HOURS TRYING TO FIGURE OUT HOW TO HELP KENZIE BUILD A FREAKING MINECRAFT VOLCANO USING PYTHON CODE."
Kristy Sevy is a classically trained Gold Medal pianist who grew up in The Biggest Little City - Reno, NV. Her disciplined practice allowed for many opportunities to travel, compete, practice and perform with some of the biggest names in contemporary classical music. While maintaining her love of the arts, and with the talents developed through her diverse musical experiences, Kristy went on to study Marriage Family Therapy with a focus on community development. She has been married for twelve years and is a busy mom raising three precocious daughters (Kenzie, 9; Josie, 4; Goldie, 1).
Everything Kristy does, she does to help her girls own their freedom and find happiness. Whether it be traveling to MARS, curing cancer, or finding innovative ways to make the world a better place, Kristy wants her girls to realize that there is something greater, beyond themselves, and that they can contribute to that greatness.
Kristy’s oldest daughter, Kenzie, has always had an interest in all things S.T.E.M. (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) - topics that didn’t lend well to her strong artistic background. Kristy tried to keep up with Kenzie’s inquiring mind, but when she started running out of answers she did what any modern mom would do - she Googled it! When it came to kids and learning Kristy knew that hands-on is always best - so she searched for S.T.E.M (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) products that would give her girls the knowledge by satisfying their curiosity.
With the help of her brother, Kristy decided to start a S.T.E.A.M. (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, Mathematics) learning company that brings together REAL technology, and straight-forward, hands-on play. Their products teach kids (and their parents!), high-level concepts in a way that's as simple as 1-2-3: Build, Hack, Play.
